The week before the Monaco GP weekend, a charity football match traditionally always takes place in the Principality. This year too, the National Football Team of Drivers will be in action during the World Stars Football Match of 2023.

F1 drivers step onto football field

This year marks the 30th time the charity event is being organised. The World Stars Football Match takes place on Tuesday evening before the Monaco GP and will be a match between the driver team and the Star Team MC at the Louis II Stadium. Max Verstappen will not be there this year, but other F1 drivers will be on the field.

The most notable names are: Stefano Domenicali, Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz, Fernando Alonso, Pierre Gasly, Giancarlo Fisichella, Antonio Giovinazzi and Jorge Lorenzo. There are more than 30 participants this year. Of the drivers' opposing team, 22-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic is the biggest name.
