Toto Wolff was Valtteri Bottas' manager years ago, but that came to an end after the Finnish driver came to drive for Mercedes. Now, with the 33-year-old driver racing for Alfa Romeo Racing, Wolff has rejoined Bottas' management team.

Indeed, in the podcast Beyond The Grid, Bottas was asked a question about this. "He wasn’t my manager when I was at Mercedes, obviously, for different reasons – not getting a cut or anything, because that’s not how it works! “But now he’s part of the management team.” Exactly what role the Mercedes team boss is playing is unclear.

The 33-year-old Bottas was due to leave Mercedes after the 2021 season. George Russell was eager to take over his seat after three seasons at Williams and Bottas' performance did not give Mercedes enough incentive to renew his contract again. The 10-time Grand Prix winner then moved to Alfa Romeo where he is under contract until 2025.

Bottas' future

Whether Bottas will also drive in Formula 1 from 2026 is not certain, but he is leaning towards it. And whether he will remain active at the highest level until the age of 40? "It's hard to say. It obviously depends [on] the way the sport is going. What's the situation in the sport? Which team are you in? How is the atmosphere?"

As things stand, Bottas is still full of energy to add many more years. "I'm still young compared to some. 'm 33. I still don't see my Formula 1 career ending in the near future and I don't feel any performance losses on my driving or the way I work with the team," he concluded.
