During Max Verstappen's appearance for the Miami Grand Prix and during the podium ceremony, when the Red Bull Racing driver received his trophy for victory, boos rang out from the crowd. Meanwhile, a video has surfaced on TikTok showing that a small section of the crowd reacting very aggressively to the Dutchman.

Verstappen doesn't care
At the press conference after the Grand Prix, Verstappen responded to the shouting: "If I’m driving in the back, nobody would be doing anything in terms of reaction. I think it’s normal when you are winning, and they don’t like who is winning. So, this is something for me which is absolutely fine as long as I stand on the top. That’s the most important. I’ll take the trophy home, and they go back to their houses, and they can have a nice evening.”
In recent years, it has increasingly happened that a minority of the public react negatively to drivers. It happened to Verstappen before, for example in Italy. Lewis Hamilton was previously often the target, including in Hungary and Zandvoort. Already several times, Formula 1 organisers and teams have called for such behaviour to stop.
