Fernando Alonso disagrees with Lewis Hamilton after The Briton said that the RB19 was the fastest car he had ever seen after the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix. Alonso joked to French L'Equipe about how Hamilton might have forgotten the races in 2014 and 2015, where he won by huge margins.

Hamilton and Alonso have never been a great relationship, which started ever since the two were teammates at McLaren in 2007. Alonso, in particular, often makes it clear what he thinks of Hamilton in the media as they both struggle to get along. Once again, the Spaniard makes it clear that he thinks Hamilton's statements are nonsense.

'Hamilton is also getting older'

Hamilton was overtaken by Max Verstappen in Saudi Arabia, with the huge speed difference playing a big factor. After that race, the Briton said he had never seen such a fast car, but Alonso briefly reminded Hamilton of how things were in 2014 and 2015 when Mercedes was the dominant team.

"I disagree. In Saudi Arabia, I finished 20 seconds behind 'Checo' and Max, but Rosberg and he left us a minute behind the rest in 2014 and 2015. After two or three laps, they even reduced their pace to save their engines. He has a short memory, he too is getting older," Alonso joked in the French newspaper.
