Sergio Pérez watched the second day of testing from the garage, but on Saturday the Mexican was allowed to drive his laps all day in the RB19. The veteran drove by far the fastest time, eventually completing 133 laps on the Bahrain circuit. Max Verstappen 's teammate can therefore be nothing but satisfied.

Perez looks back on winter test

"The last few days have been pretty intense, testing is very short, so it is very important to get the maximum out of it," Perez began in a Red Bull Racing press release. Overall, however, he notes that the winter test was extremely successful for his team.

The test days were mainly about gathering data to start the 2023 Formula 1 season well prepared. "We got a good understanding of our car," concluded the 33-year-old Mexican. "I think we did the most we could today, we did a lot of analysis on set-up and tyre choice."

As Max Verstappen said earlier, one of the team's main wishes was to complete a trouble-free winter test, and they succeeded. "We ran without any big problems, got a lot of laps in, and had good reliability in general," jubilates Perez. "The team back in Milton Keynes have done a tremendous job, we have a good paced car and certainly think we can work on that more."
