Pierre Gasly has been busy preparing for the new season in recent months, but the real work does not start until next Thursday. The driver, transferred from AlphaTauri, will then step into the A523 during the winter tests, which should challenge the top teams this year.

Looking back on the last few months, Gasly speaks in a video released by Alpine about a 'great training camp' he had at the beginning of calendar year. "Everything is coming together," says the Frenchman, who tells about his strengths. "My speed, my dedication, my technical feedback to the guys, my work ethic to the guys."

Conveying winner's mentality

"You know, I'm here to win. That's what I want and I'll bring that mentality, that spirit, that motivation to every single member of the team, and, for what I have seenso far, it's very impressive. You know, there is an impressive organization with big facilities, incredible technical staff and people. So, we all got the tools to succeed and develope, as they been showing in the past."

Alpine failed to reach the podium last season. Despite numerous DNF's due to technical defects, the team with Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso finished fourth in the constructors' standings. This year, one of the goals is to further narrow the gap to the top three teams.
