Christian Horner still sounds amazed by the performances of his team Red Bull Racing and of Max Verstappen. After eight years of drought, Red Bull returned to the top. Horner is happy that his team has held on.

Red Bull Racing back after eight years in the wilderness

In 2021, Verstappen already managed to take the drivers' title and in 2022, the double title for Verstappen and Red Bull was added. It reminds team boss, Horner of the team's glory years, with Sebastian Vettel from 2010 to 2013. Whether there is a repeat of those years cannot be ruled out. In any case, Horner did not expect another such dominant season from his team. Verstappen broke Vettel's record at Red Bull with his 14th win of the season in Mexico.

Horner says to Channel 4: "We all have a few more grey hairs and a bit more experience. But it's largely the same people that are involved." The Brit says the experience from 2010-2013 has helped this year. Maybe that's why it went better than ever: "I never felt we would be able to break those records, particularly 2013, but what the team have done this year and performance of the car, we've managed to that one step further. We had 8 years in the wilderness, we were winning the odd race here or there but it was a dominant 8 years by one team. We never lost sight of the goal and objective. We kept working collectively as a team." Horner believes that Red Bull has shown that anything is possible.
