A high chance of rain was predicted for the whole weekend in Sao Paulo during the Brazilian Grand Prix. During the sessions on Friday, that rain did indeed fall and although the chance now seems a little smaller on Saturday, we can still expect wet F1 sessions.

Especially in Friday's qualifying, the rain played a big role. The alternation between a drying track and an increasingly wet track again made for a fun qualifying session with constantly many drivers on the asphalt. The strategy was interesting as a result and Ferrari appeared to be struggling. In the end, it was Kevin Magnussen who took pole position as the surprise of the day. The rain may again boost Magnussen's chances on Saturday. Indeed, rain is not out of the question during the sprint race.

Another wet day in Sao Paulo?

Due to the track's location in Brazil between two large lakes, it is difficult to predict whether it will rain, but the latest forecasts show that the chance of rain is significant. The probability has only decreased compared to the predictions for the weekend. Back then, a 60 per cent chance of rain was forecast. For FP2 which starts at 12:30 local time is by Weather.com now predicted around a thirty per cent chance of rain. Accuweather.com predicted around 40 per cent. In any case, it will be cloudy over the circuit all day. There is also a chance of localised thunderstorms.

For the sprint race taking place at 16:30 local time, Accuweather predicts a whopping 50 per cent chance of rain, while Weather.com expects only a 10 per cent chance of rain. These forecasts are very far apart and testify to the fact that weather conditions around the Brazilian circuit can change quickly.
