Haas will announce before this season's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix who will drive alongside Kevin Magnussen in 2023. Team boss Günther Steiner announced this in conversation with Racer.

Currently, Haas is the only team left with a seat to give away. Mick Schumacher still represents the team this year, but due to erratic performances, the German's position is under serious pressure. Steiner is not saying much yet, except that a choice has been made before Abu Dhabi as to who will get the seat next to Kevin Magnussen. Nico Hulkenberg is considered the leading candidate, although Antonio Giovinazzi has been allowed to wrap up two free practice sessions for the team this season.

Quickly finalised

"I think we can wrap it up pretty quickly," Steiner said. He added: "Hopefully we can announce something next week, whatever we are going to do." The Italian does stress that they want to be sure they are making the right decision. In addition, the most important consideration for Steiner is a longer-term vision of the team's progress.
