Max Verstappen cannot wait to finish next weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix. Not only can he take victory in the race on Sunday, he also has the opportunity to win the sprint race on Saturday. However, the Dutchman is not just looking out for himself in doing so, he said in the Red Bull Racing's press release.

Indeed, while Verstappen assured himself of the world title a few weeks ago, his teammate Sergio Perez still has something to fight for. The Mexican has just five points more than Charles Leclerc in the world championship, which means his second place is far from certain.

"The Sprint race set up this weekend means we only have a short practice window, so that always makes it a slightly more difficult, ensuring that the car is perfect and that we set up the car well with limited time," he explained. "As a Team we want to finish first and second in the Championship so it’s important that we make sure Checo stays ahead of Charles."

The driver will therefore help Perez where necessary to achieve his goal. At the same time, however, Verstappen's focus is on a victory in Brazil, which would give him his 15th win of the season. He says he is enjoying being back in Brazil.

"It’s always nice to be back in Brazil, it’s beautiful here and so rich in culture. Interlagos is a short track and with all the elevation changes and cambered corners, it’s a really cool track to drive. There’s obviously a lot of history at the track too, which I love."
