This weekend it is time for the Mexican Grand Prix, and before the weekend begins it has become clear that the Mexican GP has extended its contract with Formula 1 until at least 2025.
GP Mexico extends contract until 2025
So there will be at least three more Mexican GPs after the upcoming one at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Since 2015, the Mexican event has been back on the calendar and apart from 2020 (due to the Covid virus), all races have been a success. Yet the event had a short contract all these years each time. Even with the renewed contract, it has not signed up for many years, but at least three years is great news for Mexican F1 fans.
At a special press moment for the news F1 boss Stefano Domenicali said: “I am very pleased to announce that Formula 1 will continue to race in Mexico City for another three years under this new agreement. Every year the race attracts a large number of passionate fans and the atmosphere is incredible, and I know everyone will be excited by this news."
