Dark clouds are gathering over the Suzuka Circuit. It is rainy at the circuit and the rainfall is expected to intensify before the start of the Japanese Grand Prix. Max Verstappen expects an interesting race on the day he could cash in on his second match point for the world title.

Looking ahead to the race, Verstappen praised the fans in attendance. "Japanese fans in general are superb. It's amazing to see," he says in conversation with Sky Sports. "Just now we see what the weather will do. I think it's an interesting one."

No extra pressure for Verstappen

Verstappen is also briefly asked about the incident with Lando Norris. The McLaren driver was initially unhappy with the Dutchman's action, but came back to his opinion when the pair watched footage back in the stewards' office. "Lando thought I turned in on him and then he saw the onboard and he understood. Everything solved," Verstappen says simply.

According to Verstappen, the biggest challenge lies in the changing weather conditions, not in the extra pressure he may feel. "You have to see what the weather will do and be on it. Read the weather. It's difficult, we just stay calm and do our best. Winning is nice but at the end of the day it's more important to win the championship so there's no extra pressure."
