NFL star Russell Wilson compares Canadian Grand Prix to Super Bowl

Seattle Seahawk superstar Russel Wilson went to his first F1 Grand Prix on Sunday and it reminded him of the Super Bowl. And that is something Chase Carey was aiming for when he first came into the sport. 

Wilson was guest to Lewis Hamilton and watched the race from his garage. He also drove alongside Hamilton prior to the start of the race. 

“Awesome, absolutely amazing,” said Wilson in an interview with motorsport.com. “We were going so fast in the turns, hitting the kerbs, and we did some pretty sick spins. 

“I love cars, and I’ve been getting into a lot of them recently. I’m a huge fan of Lewis and watching him, and with the Mercedes brand and bose - its all been fun.

“It reminds me a lot like the Super Bowl. The experiences, the festivities around it, you can see everybody is hyped up.”

Despite what was classed as a boring race, getting this kind of review from people who attend the events can only be great for F1!’
