Porsche and Red Bull Racing will not work together from 2026 onwards

Red Bull Racing and Porsche have failed to agree on a partnership starting in 2026. F1 Journalist Tobi Gruner of Auto, Motor und Sport reports that Porsche has withdrawn after lengthy negotiations.

For a long time it seemed that Porsche and Red Bull Racing would start working together from 2026. Red Bull now has their own engine factory in Milton Keynes and that would be the ideal entry point for Porsche into F1. In this scenario, they wouldn't need to build a factory from scratch and could enter at a high level.

No deal between Red Bull and Porsche

In recent weeks, however, reports have been trickling out that a deal has not yet been reached. Porsche not only wanted to be an engine supplier to Red Bull, but also to acquire 50 percent of the shares. However, Red Bull refuses to hand over such a large part of the team.

Porsche says in the statement that the condition has always been to work together on an equal footing. Not only as an engine partner of Red Bull, but also as a co-owner. Now that that door has been slammed by Red Bull, Porsche is monitoring the situation to see if there is an opportunity to enter F1 elsewhere.

Porsche now has to look for a new party to work with from 2026. Red Bull will continue with their own project, but a return of Honda can't be ruled out either. The Japanese team probably regret leaving F1 and may want to return.

Porsche has officially called off the planned F1 entry in 2026 together with Red Bull:
