Although it was not easy, Max Verstappen put a big exclamation mark on the Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort by winning his home race for the second time in a row. The Dutch media are enjoying a particularly successful Dutch party, made possible by the achievements of the Limburger.

Algemeen Dagblad

The AD headlines with: "Max Verstappen puts crown on magisterial orange weekend in Zandvoort with victory in Dutch GP". The newspaper writes that Verstappen has completed the Dutch party in the atmospheric Zandvoort for the second time. With his victory, the Dutchman again takes a big step forward in the championship.

"A truly thrilling fight between Verstappen and Hamilton did not take place, just as the Dutch audience did not get to see an exciting duel between their hero and Leclerc. But they did witness him winning four races in a row for the first time in his career. And they saw him take another big step towards the world title. And with that, the Dutch party in Zandvoort was complete. Reason enough for fireworks and orange torches.

De Telegraaf

Also De Telegraaf Max Verstappen treats fans in Zandvoort to second home win in a row". Verstappen appeared to be facing resistance from Mercedes on a strategic level. A possible sprint duel between the Dutchman and Hamilton seemed to be in the making, but failed due to a tactical lapse by Mercedes.

De Telegraaf: "When the track was released, Verstappen popped past the now white-hot Hamilton on the straight, who was also overtaken by Russell and Leclerc on his older tyres. Verstappen was able to smile. Waving to his fans, who lit dozens of orange smoke trees (without throwing them on the track), he celebrated his thirtieth victory ever after seeing the black-white-blocked flag."

NRC

The NRC is impressed with Verstappen's overall package. That's the title after the Red Bull driver's victory at Zandvoort: "Talent, luck, instinct - everything that makes Max Verstappen good was on show at Zandvoort." According to NRC, there was some luck involved in the victory, nevertheless Verstappen showed that there is no better driver in Formula 1.

"Talent, commitment, strategy and luck. It has already brought Max Verstappen much success in Formula 1, but at the Grand Prix of the Netherlands it all came together. A weekend that started on Friday with a broken gearbox, ended on Sunday with a victory that brings him another step closer to his second world title. Verstappen won ahead of George Russell (Mercedes) and Charles Leclerc(Ferrari) after a race that went completely differently than predicted. "Not easy," Verstappen called the race with characteristic sobriety during a press conference accompanied by the disco thump from the Red Bull lounge above him. Just as it was one big party at Zandvoort circuit afterwards and only the winner seemed to keep his cool."

De Volkskrant

De Volkskrant Praises the coolness of the winner of the Dutch Grand Prix. Max Verstappen managed to keep his cool and win again in a somewhat challenging weekend, in which he was under a lot of pressure from the enthusiastic home crowd at the Zandvoort circuit. The newspaper writes: "Winning Verstappen also beats the madness at exuberant Zandvoort".

"With ten laps to go, Verstappen was behind Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes on faster, newer tyres. He had to overtake the seven-time champion for the win. It was reminiscent of last season's finale in Abu Dhabi, where Verstappen, also on faster tyres, had to overtake Hamilton in the closing stages of the race, but with the title on the line. His overtake on Sunday, outside at the Tarzan curve, was just as decisive and successful as in Abu Dhabi. For the tens of thousands of Verstappen fans in the stands it felt like a mini-reprise of that iconic race."

Noordhollands Dagblad

According to the Noordhollands Dagblad Verstappen was superior at Zandvoort: "Max Verstappen wins superior and brings Orange legion in ecstasy. The 24-year-old Dutchman is heading for his second world title." Het Dagblad writes that the race itself was nothing special, but that the fans provided a special atmosphere. The race did end up being exciting, as tyre strategy was key at the Dutch GP.

"The race was not particularly spectacular and largely revolved around who had the best tyre strategy. Especially Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton seemed to make things difficult for Verstappen. After the race was halted twelve laps before the end due to a car crashing on the tarmac, Max went for it after the safety car. Again on Sunday he was unbeatable.
