Max Verstappen showed once again how high his level is on Saturday afternoon at the Dutch Grand Prix. The Dutchman narrowly beat Charles Leclerc, but his powers of persuasion spoke volumes. It seems that few drivers will be able to stop him from winning.

While the reigning world champion won gloriously in Belgium last week, the aspects of Circuit Zandvoort are fairly in favour of Ferrari. It, therefore, looked like the Italian team would take pole position again this weekend, but Verstappen again got more out of his car.

Although Sergio Perez had a difficult time in qualifying and finished fifth, Verstappen managed to make a big impression. The Dutchman was virtually unbeatable in front of his own fans and received a lot of respect from the competition for his performance afterwards.

The competition sees unbeatable Verstappen

Verstappen knows better than anyone that Sunday afternoon could still be tricky with Leclerc and Carlos Sainz behind him, but it does not look like he is going to give away his pole position just yet. The driver is in a phase of his career where not only is luck sometimes with him, but he also makes his competitors feel there is little to gain.

With the Dutch spectators behind him, it will be almost impossible for Ferrari and Mercedes to keep Verstappen from victory. The world championship leader will therefore need to get through the race in good order to stand on the top step of the podium afterwards.
