Charles Leclerc was fastest in the final practice session for the Dutch Grand Prix, with George Russell second and home favourite Verstappen in third for Red Bull.

Leclerc found his pace in the final quarter of the session and topped the standings for the last ten minutes with a time of 1:11.632, despite drivers exchanging places in the closing stages. George Russell marked Mercedes' intentions as more than just the third fastest team as he finished second just 0.066 off the pace of the Monegasque.

Red Bull and Verstappen's challenging weekend improved slightly as he went third fastest. The home favourite led for large periods of the session, in fact he led from the first lap he set, until Carlos Sainz went quicker with less than 20 minutes left. He'll be hoping for a good qualifying session, with Mercedes also lurking and ready to capatalise after a strong weekend for the Silver Arrows.

Mercedes in the mix

After FP1's one-two, Mercedes had to settle for P2 and P5, but very much in the mix for this afternoon's qualifying. Lewis Hamilton's time of 1:12.156 was the fifth fastest time, but it was quicker than Red Bull's Sergio Perez and he'll be taking confidence into this weekend.

Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel, Mick Schumacher and Lando Norris rounded out the top ten. Nicholas Latifi brought up the rear, with Guanyu Zhou 19th as Alfa Romeo struggled, with Bottas in P18.

However, the session sets up a fascinating qualifying, and the biggest risk taker could earn the biggest reward!
