Christian Horner and Red Bull Racing are looking forward to the first Grand Prix after the summer break. In Belgium he hopes to start the second half of the season well, alongside Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, but in the back of his mind he is already thinking about next year.

At the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, all the teams will have to deal with new rules to overcome problems of porpoising. Horner has no problem complying with them, but he is concerned about the new regulations for 2023.

"I think the bigger discussion is about a potential regulation change for next year," Horner stated in conversation with Formula1.com. "That could be a major redesign of the car if the size of the floor were raised that they're talking about, and other aspects. I think that's a far bigger discussion."

FIA finds compromise with teams

The FIA announced the porpoising rules this month, which state that cars must be raised by 15 millimetres. In doing so, the organisation met several opponents of the changes. The FIA also intervened in other areas to prevent worse. It also published the new rules that will apply from 2026.
