This weekend, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is on the programme. Of course, as is usually the case, some Dutchmen will be competing. One of them is Jeroen Bleekemolen, who had an excellent preparation.

In a video for the website of Motorsport.com the Dutchman says that the rest day is not really a rest day. Certainly not for the people who work very hard behind the scenes.

"The rest day is for the drivers, but not for the team and the mechanics. They just have to work really hard to get the car ready. Every second counts here at Le Mans.

What do drivers do during such a rest day?

They certainly don't sit still, says Bleekemolen. "We as drivers are also doing the final preparations. We practice a few last driver changes, check the helmets and then we are ready. So far we've been pretty fast in practice, so I'm looking forward to it."

The 24 Hours of Le Mans starts on Saturday, August 21 and will then last until the same time a day later. Sunday, August 24, the race will be over and we will know whether Bleekemolen, Nyck de Vries, Robin Frijns or the other Dutch drivers and teams have come close to victory.
