Aston Martin to bring major upgrade at Silverstone

Many Formula One teams are planning to bring an update package to Silverstone. Red Bull Racing, among others, can benefit from its location near its factory in Milton Keynes, but so can Aston Martin. The Silverstone-based team plans to bring 'substantial updates', after already transforming the AMR22 in Barcelona.

The team's B-spec caused controversy because of its similarities to Red Bull's RB18, but Aston's revised car was deemed legal by the FIA. The 'green Red Bull' didn't bring the team any miracles, but Sebastian Vettel's sixth place in Baku proved that steps have been taken.

Aston Martin's ambitious plans

For the British Grand Prix, another important update is planned. "For Silverstone we will have another substantial update. But I think most teams will have that," said team boss Mike Krack in conversation with The Race.

The 50-year-old Luxembourger expects to make a big step with the upcoming update package. "The target has to be to really get in front of this midfield," says the team boss, who currently rates his team as being 'in the middle' of the midfield.
