Max Verstappen has made an excellent start to the race weekend in Canada. The Dutchman took the fastest time in the first two practice sessions, keeping the competition behind him. It ensures that the Dutchman looks with confidence towards the rest of the weekend.
After his victory in Azerbaijan, Verstappen continued his good form in Canada. The reigning world champion immediately had a taste for it on Friday and drove convincingly towards the fastest time twice. "Of course you look at a few things to find some extra balance, but overall it was a good start to the weekend," he concluded accordingly on Verstappen.com.
Verstappen is very pleased with the performance of his car on several fronts. "The long run went well. The track is tricky for the tires and the brakes. We still have a few things we need to improve, but despite that we had a good day."

Grid penalty Leclerc gives Verstappen advantage

His direct rival Charles Leclerc faces a difficult weekend. The Monegasque chose to replace some engine parts with Ferrari, which means that a grid penalty of at least ten places awaits him next Sunday. As a result, Leclerc will have to fight hard to get close to Verstappen.
