Max Verstappen has won the first sprint race of the season. The Dutchman let Charles Leclerc pass him at the start, but managed to come back at the end of the race to regain the lead and ensure he starts from first in the main Grand Prix.
Leclerc got away well at the start and drove in P1 for a long time, but in the last few laps Verstappen managed to narrow the gap and overtake the Ferrari driver on lap 20. Sergio Perez completed the podium with a third place finish.
Carlos Sainz had to start from P10 after his crash during qualifying, but the Spaniard impressed during the sprint race with some nice overtaking actions. In the end, he crossed the finish line in fourth place.
