Fernando Alonso may have already had a long career as a Formula One driver, but the 40-year-old Spaniard has no intention of hanging up his helmet on the willows for the time being.

The new rules that came into force this year were an important reason for the two-time world champion to return to the premier class of motor sport. Although he knows that he will not be driving forever, he hopes to be able to take a shot at his third world title in the coming years.

Alonso will stay for a while

Alonso, who took issue with teammate Esteban Ocon at the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, is not done with the sport for the time being. "I still have a lot to offer," he assures DAZN. "At the moment I'm really enjoying Formula 1."

By this he refers not only to the action on the track, but also to the activities organized outside of it. Earlier, Alonso indicated that he does not see his age as a disadvantage and that is certainly not noticeable in his form on the track.

So for now, there is no second goodbye in sight for the Spaniard. "I think you will see me around for at least two or three more years," concludes the Alpine driver.
