Ferrari and Red Bull Racing also seem to be battling it out during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. While last weekend the Italian team was the best in Bahrain, Charles Leclerc thinks that in a few days time this could be different.
The team of Leclerc and Carlos Sainz already made a good impression during the winter test days in Barcelona and Bahrain and continued that during the opening race. After the Monegasque set the fastest lap in qualifying and took pole position, Sainz set the third fastest time.
During the race Max Verstappen was unable to overtake Leclerc, who also had to deal with problems with his car. However, the Dutchman showed competitiveness to Ferrari, making it the hope that both teams can fight for winning the world championship this season.
Leclerc expects fight with Red Bull
Leclerc does not underestimate Red Bull by any means, he told De Telegraaf in an interview. "It was so close last weekend, between us and Red Bull. It can turn around now," Leclerc says. "This is a completely different circuit again. Red Bull was fast on the straight in Bahrain, so here they can also be strong again."
