Winning races was normal by now, but winning a championship was a new experience even for Max Verstappen. The Red Bull Racing driver therefore cherishes his first Formula One title, because he knows that a repeat is not to be taken for granted.

Of course, he hopes to drive Red Bull Racing to the world title again and also add the constructors' title in 2022. Yet Verstappen realizes that it is not a given that he can repeat that trick for a while.

"It might never happen again, no one knows. That's why you have to embrace it and enjoy it," says the Dutchman in an interview with Dutch newspaper The Telegraph. Together with his team he celebrates the end of a special year.

It did take some time for Verstappen to get his mind off things, especially in the aftermath of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. That was such a hectic week that he can't enjoy everything when he thinks back on it. "I don't have nightmares about it or anything," he assures, but adds that he prefers to think back to the moments after, when everything was over.
