The name Schumacher and Formula 1 are forever linked. Of course Michael Schumacher is one of the best racing drivers of all time, his brother Ralf also had a creditable career. With Mick, the next member of the racing family is now active in F1.

David follows?

Mick Schumacher will start his second season in March and likely has many years left in the premier class of motorsport. He may not be the last Schumacher in Formula 1. His nephew David might also make an appearance. David is the son of Ralf and until recently raced in F3. His focus is now on F2 and DTM, but F1 is not out of his thoughts.

Two Schumachers in Formula 1 would revive old times. "I have already spoken with Ralf about David and I am happy to see that he is developing well," F1 boss Stefano Domenicali told F1 Insider. "I think he also has a good career ahead of him and of course it would be great for the German fans."

Commercialism

Despite the presence of Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher, interest in Formula 1 from Germany is less than in the past, even though it is a large country with many potential fans. It is therefore quite understandable from a commercial point of view that Domenicali is hoping for more drivers from Germany.
