Relationship between Verstappen and Lambiase fundamental: 'Intense'

An important part of Verstagen's world championship is his race engineer. In the case of the Dutchman, that is Gianpiero Lambiase. Many know him as the quiet and calm voice over Verstappen's onboard radio.
The single world champion previously praised Lambiase for the way the two work together. Verstappen even indicated that he will also quit if his engineer chooses to leave the Red Bull team.
Team boss Christian Horner also sees the success between the two men. "The dynamic between the two is so intense that in between you have to ask yourself who should be the driver here and who should be the engineer here. I think the collaboration between a driver and his race engineer is fundamental to success. The engineer has to be able to implement what the driver needs," he is quoted as saying by Speedweek.com.
Already a team since 2018
Horner compares the relationship to that between Sebastian Vettel and Guillaume Rocquelin. Vettel won four world championships in a row with Red Bull. Lambiase previously worked as Sergio Perez's race engineer when he was still driving at Force India. Since 2015, the engineer has worked for Red Bull, where he first worked with Daniil Kvyat. Three years later, he became the man alongside Verstappen.
