Lily Verstappen

Lily Verstappen is the daughter of Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet, and their first child together. Kelly Piquet already has a daughter, Penelope, from her previous relationship with Daniil Kvyat, making Lily Max Verstappen’s first child.

The exact date of Lily Verstappen’s birth has not been made public. The couple has kept it private, but it is known that she was born shortly before the Miami Grand Prix weekend. Max Verstappen missed the media day on Thursday, 1 May, and revealed the following day that he had spent several wonderful days with his newborn family. This suggests Lily was born in late April.

Lily Verstappen is a girl. Verstappen and Piquet kept the baby’s gender a secret until the birth, although Kelly hinted several times that they were expecting a daughter.

Lily Verstappen’s exact nationality is also unknown. She has several possibilities: Max Verstappen holds both Dutch and Belgian nationality, while Kelly Piquet is Brazilian. Although Lily was born in Monaco, she is not eligible for Monegasque citizenship. In Miami, Verstappen said she would probably have Dutch and Brazilian nationality, but this has not been officially confirmed.

Lily Verstappen is only a few months old, so it’s far too early to predict her career path. Verstappen has said several times that he has no wish for Lily to pursue a career in Formula 1 — in fact, he would actually prefer she didn’t.

Lily Verstappen is Max Verstappen’s first child. Kelly Piquet already has a daughter, Penelope, making Lily and Penelope half-sisters through their mother. Lily does not (yet) have any full siblings.

On Max Verstappen’s side, her grandparents are Jos Verstappen and Sophie Kumpen. On Kelly Piquet’s side, they are Nelson Piquet Sr. and Sylvia Tamsma. Lily’s aunts and uncle include Victoria Verstappen, Julia Piquet, and Nelson Piquet Jr. Victoria, together with her fiancé Tom Heuts, has three children — Luka, Lio, and Hailey — who are Lily’s cousins. Nelson Piquet Jr. and his wife Patsy Zurita are expecting their first child, also a girl.
