Jolyon Palmer is a former British Formula 1 driver. He is the son of former F1 driver Jonathan Palmer. In 2016, he made his Formula 1 debut with Renault. Today, the Brit is best known for his role as an analyst with F1TV.

Jolyon Palmer’s Formula 1 career

In 2014, Jolyon Palmer won the GP2 title, now known as Formula 2, with DAMS. This success earned him a chance with Force India to take part in the Young Driver Test in Abu Dhabi. In 2015, he became the official test driver for Lotus, before being promoted to a Formula 1 race seat in 2016 when Renault took over the team.
That year, Kevin Magnussen was his teammate. Strong results failed to materialize, and Palmer scored only a handful of points. In 2017, the Brit continued with Renault alongside Nico Hulkenberg. However, Palmer struggled to match Hulkenberg and was replaced by Carlos Sainz before the end of the season.

He performs a similar role for the UK broadcaster Channel 4 during race weekends.
