Mike Elliott is the current technical director of the Mercedes Formula 1 team. He started his career in Formula 1 with McLaren in 2000 as an aerodynamics expert. From 2003 he worked for the British team from the track and in 2006 he was appointed team leader of the aerodynamics department.

After working for McLaren for about eight years, the Briton made the switch from McLaren to Renault in 2008, which changed to Lotus F1 Team in 2012. Here he became the head of the aerodynamic department. He did not work at Enstone for very long, however, as in 2012 he moved to Brackley where he would work for his current employer, Mercedes.

As with McLaren and Renault, Elliott was active in his early years as head of the aerodynamics department. He held this role until 2017, when he was promoted to technology director. When the technical director role became vacant in 2021, following James Allison's promotion, Elliott was the man to take over.

Elliott has had a rich career so far at a relatively young age (47 years). In total, he has already won eight constructors' titles with the various teams in 21 years in the sport and on top of that, there are also three top three finishes with the constructors.
