Wolff breaks magic barrier: assets estimated at over a billion
- GPblog.com
According to Forbes Toto Wolff's equity has risen above the magical one-billion-dollar mark. The Mercedes team boss has done well over the past year and has recently become part of a select group of billionaires in the sports world.
Besides being team boss of Mercedes (and the good salary that comes with it), the 51-year-old Austrian also owns 33.3 per cent of the Formula 1 team. Furthermore, he also has some shares in Aston Martin, has invested in BRR Rallye Racing (one of the largest suppliers of rally sport parts) and co-owns an organisation that mentors and supports professional racing drivers.
Furthermore, there are two more active athletes listed by the US business magazine. These are basketball player LeBron James and golfer Tiger Woods. All other names are currently no longer hugely actively involved in their sport.
