Max Verstappen is leading the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Red Bull Racing knows that things can still go wrong and had a clear message for the Dutchman over the board radio.

The reigning world champion was instructed by his team to drive around 1:48:00, but Verstappen did not fully comply. He set a time of around 1:47:50, which was not as agreed.

Red Bull puts Verstappen on edge

The Austrian racing team decided to put the driver on edge. Verstappen reacted on the board radio by saying that it didn't matter whether he was a few tenths faster or slower, knowing that Sergio Perez was driving behind him.

Red Bull had a clear answer to that. According to the racing stable, Verstappen knows all too well what it is like to have to stop the race suddenly in Baku. It points to last season's dropout, when Verstappen had to deal with a blowout. This seems to have given the Dutch driver a clear argument to be careful.
