Big celebration at McLaren after podium for Norris in Imola

Podium for McLaren

For McLaren, the 2022 Formula 1 season did not start as hoped. The rule changes were an ideal opportunity for the team from Woking to make the step to the top, but in the first few races, the MCL36 proved unable to compete for the front positions. That was a big blow for the team and the drivers.

Yet McLaren is getting better and better and there seems to be potential in the car. Norris drove to third place in qualifying. In the sprint race, he had to let Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz past him, but in the race, the Spaniard dropped out and Leclerc made a mistake. Thus P3 ended up in the hands of Norris and that made for a big celebration.
