I seem to recall Red Bull employing a number of key engineers previously in the employ of Mercedes. The employment of these engineers has perhaps contributed to the current success of Red Bull. It might be a dangerous assumption but it is possible that these engineers are paid more for doing similar work to that which they performed at Mercedes. As a Mercedes supporter I hope the FIA rightly enforce the budget cap on Red Bull.

Perhaps Christian Horner should remember that Red Bull lost the Constructors championship in 2022 before he issues comments on members of the winning team.

Were the stewards at Yas Marina wrong to vigourously defend the decisions made just before the final lap? If the Mercedes appeal had been allowed would Masi still be race director? Somehow I think Masi was on a lose/lose and has been sacrificed in the greater cause for F1.

Why does the statement even need to be made.? Denial of corruption is needed because there is a suspicion of it. By one rushed decision the sport has been deprived of an almost undisputed King of the sport. This is convenient for influential figures who have publicly stated a number of things. Firstly he would prefer if Michael Schumachers record of championshipwas was not beaten., secondly Lewis Hamilton should accept the result of Abu Dhabi and thirdly Masi should not be sacked. It has also been said before Abu Dhabi that a Verstappen win would be good for the sportand after Abu Dhabi that Lewis should retire.

In order to remove the 'lottery element from F1 how about banning pit stops under either the full or virtual safety cars? Clearly if the main stakeholders of the sport wish this risk element to be an inherent part of proceedings then my suggestion is a non starter. Clearly if an emergency arises then a pit stop is essential. Under such circumstances the driver should serve a 'stop and go' penalty of say circa ten seconds to ensure no advantage is gained compared to a stop under normal race conditions. I cannot logically see why pit stops are allowed under safety cars as they are essentially unfair should such a concept exist in F1. I understand there is a huge rule book designed to eliminate injustices and create a level playing field so why not take this extra step. What is certain is that the current world champion gained a random advantage from the deployment of the safety car. Is this what the sport wants?
