You might wanna check the financials. Globally, the movie has grossed (gross, not profit) about $400 million. The total costs of making and marketing the movie is around $350-$400 million. You need to gross 2.5-4 times the total costs to break even. Unless you personally plan to watch and re-watch the movie a billion times in the theatres, it's not turning a profit anytime soon.15-07-2025 21:31

Because the RB car development is going nowhere. Even Horner (when he was TP and CEO) admitted that the RB PU is unlikely to be as good as that of Mercedes, Honda in the first year. Max likely knows which PU is better: Mercedes or RB. Max will have seen the numbers of the RB PU. Toto knows the numbers of the Mercedes PU, and will have used the info to convince Max to move to Mercedes.12-07-2025 04:39

Yeah, I don't see how Horner gets full pay for 5 years. Unless he wants to be out of F1 for the next 5 years.12-07-2025 03:02

When RB were doing good, nobody had ever heard of Mintzlaff.11-07-2025 20:51

Mister Ollie Mintzlaff, better stay in your corporate environment, rather than make these statements about the WDC.11-07-2025 17:22

"in the sense that Horner failed to hold onto Newey for RB" "How do you know that?" Eeeehhh??? What? We know for a fact that Horner failed to hold onto Newey for RB, because Newey left for Aston Martin. As to whether that was Horner's "fault" or not, that's a matter of debate. Newey's compensation with AM is reported to be around 30 million, about triple of what he was making with RB. Horner "superpower" once was to attract top people to the team. That seemed to have gone in reverse in the last 1-2 years, the talented people are leaving RB.11-07-2025 17:19

It depends on how the car gets developed. Max is known to like a super pointy car. Drivers like Albon, Gasly, etc. simply couldn't handle a car that extreme. Could a driver with a better pedigree like Antonelli handle such a car? Maybe. Would Mercedes develop the car to be super pointy? Maybe.11-07-2025 14:15

Agree. This is why it makes no sense for Max to stay at RB.10-07-2025 17:12

"Horner is responsible for Newey leaving though." in the sense that Horner failed to hold onto Newey for RB, not that Horner actively pushed him. Although Newey was reported to be in Horner's camp, he was sick of all the infighting just the same. Horner also didn't secure a big raise bump for Newey. With F1 doing better financially, and people like Dan Fallows doubling/tripling their salary, surely he knew that you either pay Newey, or he takes a much more lucrative offer. Keeping the peace in the team, and keeping Newey happy are part of Horner's job. When RB was first formed, he managed to somehow talk Newey into joining RB. Kudos to him then. But now he failed to hold onto Newey, that's on Horner's shoulders too.10-07-2025 16:26
