Dutch pundit Robert Doornbos has weighed in on Ferrari chairman John Elkann’s recent comments and heated atmosphere at Maranello.
“They are happy to transfer 2.5 million to Hamilton every weekend, but he doesn’t deliver anything for it”

Speaking on the The Pit Talk podcast, the Dutchman addressed Elkann’s sharp remarks following the Brazilian GP weekend — a weekend in which Ferrari clinched both the WEC Constructors’ and Drivers’ titles, yet also suffered another double DNF in Formula 1.
“Leclerc and Hamilton both shared a message on Instagram after Elkann’s complaint, clearly wanting to create unity at the team,” he said.
“It indicates that there are serious irritations at Ferrari. They are happy to transfer 2.5 million to Hamilton every weekend, but he doesn’t deliver anything for it. That is painful for him, but also for all Ferrari fans.”

Doornbos also believes that Hamilton will risk a significant part of his reputation next year with the upcoming regulation changes: “He has to hope that Ferrari has built a cannon of an engine.”
“They really have to come up with a miracle. If he beats Charles Leclerc, he will be the hero of Italy again, so it’s a thin line, but it doesn’t really hold up yet.”

Ferrari advised to listen to Hamilton to turn things around

Despite a disappointing season so far, particularly in head-to-head battles with his teammate, Juan Pablo Montoya believes Ferrari should fully rely on the seven-time world champion.
The former Colombian driver argued that "the faster Ferrari’s team and engineers listen to Hamilton on how to make the car better, the better it will be for the team in the long term."
