Max Verstappen will be hoping to make a better impression in Saturday morning's third free practice session than he did in the Friday morning and afternoon sessions of the Turkish Grand Prix. The Dutchman will not have an easy time of it though, as the weather is anything but favourable.

The circuit of Turkey is full of rainwater, making it difficult for the Formula 1 teams to practice with the setup of the car. As Saturday afternoon's qualifying session looks set to be dry, the teams will be faced with uneven conditions.

Verstappen faces big challenge

For Red Bull Racing and Verstappen, the bad weather makes the challenge even greater. The Austrian team did not have a good day on Friday. Whereas the Dutchman finished second in the first free practice session, he was only fifth a few hours later. Even more striking was the large gap it had with Mercedes in every sector.

Verstappen will have little opportunity during the third free practice session to test the modifications to his car and find the right balance. It remains to be seen what the consequences will be for the Austrian.
