Valtteri Bottas will have to wait and see if he is still driving for Mercedes next season. This is because the Finnish driver will face competition from George Russell who is doing extremely well at Williams in 2021. For now, however, Bottas is not worried.
The Mercedes driver finds it difficult to compare himself to Russell, but is confident in his own qualities. "I don't know any driver as well as I know myself and my driving skills, so it's always hard to comment," he told ESPN. "You never know with the performance of the other teams how they really are and against their teammate it is quite tricky to know."
Despite this, Bottas feels that he will add something to Mercedes again this season, which is why he hopes to stay with the German racing stable. "I'm confident to say I am a good asset for the team and it definitely would be different if I wasn't here. I'm confident with my driving skills, but I don't make the decisions. The future will show."

Bottas battles for third place

Bottas is battling for third place in the world championship with Lando Norris and Sergio Pérez. The Finn is in fourth place with four points ahead of Pérez and five points behind Norris.
