Christian Horner saw Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez not in the top-three in the afternoon session. There are still some things to improve on the RB16B, but as there is no race on Friday there is still plenty of time for that. Horner's analysis also includes the strong Ferrari's, Sergio Perez's performance and Mercedes who keeps pointing the finger at Red Bull regarding the moving rear wing.

"I think we missed the best of the tyre window and we got a bit too much understeer in the car at the moment for his liking [Verstappen]," Horner said in conversation with Sky Sports. The team boss continued: "So, it just needs tuning out, but I don't think we are a mile off."

Perez coming up

Sergio Perez didn't really manage to excel during FP2 with an eighth time, more than six-tenths behind Verstappen. However, Horner does not have many concerns. "Obviously a good morning for him [Perez]. But so much traffic. I am sure they are all complaining about it. But he got traffic on the soft tyre run and never had a clean run," Horner added.

The Ferrari's were on top with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. Surely that can be called a surprise: "They have had good pace (Ferrari) in the last couple of races. They are very quick with both cars up there, but their car looks nicely balanced so it's a good time," the 47-year old Briton said.

Horner on angry Mercedes

Red Bull's 'moving rear wing' is causing a lot of controversy in Formula 1. Mercedes indicated that they would not rule out a protest. However, Horner also points to Mercedes' W12."If the camera was the other way, the discussion would go the other way. Look at their front wing moving. Look at the front wing endplate or the front wing flap, you can see it as it starts to disappear out of shot and then reappears. So, what's the difference between the front and the rear?"
