Verstappen demands more from himself and Red Bull: ''It can always be better''

The Formula 1 season is in full swing. After three races it has become clear that the title battle will be between Mercedes and Red Bull Racing. Max Verstappen and his team are now behind, but the Dutchman keeps working hard to win the title.
Red Bull must continue to develop
Verstappen already came second twice in 2021 and even won the Imola Grand Prix. Verstappen could not have started much better, of course. Lewis Hamilton's two victories have earned him slightly more points than the Dutchman, but that's not all. According to Verstappen, his team just has to keep working hard.
''I've always said the cars keep evolving. You have to make the most of every weekend. It's not always easy to find the right balance. Every track is different and the wind sometimes makes it even harder,'' says Verstappen according to De Telegraaf. The Dutchman can see where Mercedes is stronger at the moment.
Verstappen critical of himself
''I think we are well placed in terms of pure power, only it seems that with Mercedes the engine is a bit stronger in terms of generating energy per lap. It also depends on how the cars are set up. In Portugal, for example, it was clear that Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas were driving with a different wing set-up.''
Verstappen is not complaining though, as he is enjoying the fact that he can finally compete for the title. ''It's been a very attractive season so far. I'm satisfied, but it can always be better. From both sides, eh. From the car's point of view, but also from my own. The competition between us is good for the sport. And I like it too,'' Verstappen concludes.
