Fierce criticism on 'tensed' Bottas: "He's simply too slow"

The race at Imola last weekend had plenty of spectacle. Due to the characteristics of the circuit, combined with the rainy weather, there was a rapid succession of slips, spins, and trips through the gravel as well as a few big crashes. The accident that had the biggest influence on the course of the race and the most talked about afterwards was the crash between Valtteri Bottas and George Russell.

Serious accident

Although it was a serious accident, it didn't take George Russell long to open his seatbelts, strip off his headrest and walk straight up to the stricken Finn to seek redress. Even after the race, the young Brit clearly put the blame on the man whose seat he's after, an opinion he has since changed. Bottas disagreed with Russell and put the blame on the Williams driver.

He, therefore, doesn't understand why Toto Wolff seems to be blaming Russell. "Bottas knew very well that his potential successor was about to overtake him and risked a serious accident with his short move to the right."
