Antonio Giovinazzi is in his third season with Alfa Romeo, formerly known as Sauber. The Italian driver was just unable to finish in the points during the opening weekend, but he expects to have a good chance in his home country.

Where Alfa Romeo had a difficult season in 2020, the team performed very well in Bahrain. Although both Räikkönen and Giovinazzi failed to score a point, the team showed that they could perform well thanks to some adjustments. The question is whether the team can match that in Imola.

Giovinazzi too feels that Alfa Romeo is doing a great job. "What we saw in Bahrain gave us a great confidence boost and we can't wait to see how competitive we can be in Imola," the driver states in the press release. "We know we can compete for the points, but we also know we need to have a flawless weekend to maximise our potential."

The Italian now knows better than anyone that sharpness will again be required next weekend to get the most out of the car. "The margins are very small, especially in qualifying, and every detail makes a difference. I'd like to get my first point of the season in Imola: it's always a special feeling to race at home."
