With the first Grand Prix of the season approaching, all eyes are on Red Bull Racing. Can they live up to the expectations of the winter test, and really challenge Mercedes for the title this year?

We won't be able to draw any real conclusions until after qualifying on Saturday, but so far Red Bull are looking strong. "They finished 2020 strong. They picked up where they left off and then some," writes Chris Medland on Formula1.com.

"They've delivered a car that looks more stable, more consistent and faster than Mercedes' car in testing. We shouldn't get carried away with pre-season results, but being fast and reliable at this moment is certainly not a bad thing," Medland continues. "This only increases the anticipation for what Red Bull can achieve when racing starts."

On the engine front, Red Bull has also put everything on the line. "The power unit has had a major update too. Honda has already deployed the engine that was actually meant for 2022," Medland writes. In addition, he thinks the choice for Sergio Perez was also a smart move. "They have the driver in Max Verstappen, an experienced teammate in Perez, and if their chassis and engine is really as strong as it looked in the test, this really could be their season."
