In Bahrain, team members of Formula 1 teams were given the opportunity to be vaccinated against the coronavirus. Still, a lot of team members didn't take the opportunity to be vaccinated. Among them is Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff and he explains why.

No vaccination in Bahrain

It seems a unique opportunity to vaccinate against the coronavirus with priority. Most teams operate from the UK, where there is a good campaign going on at the moment, knows Wolff who has had COVID-19 himself knows.

"I think it's good when you don't jump the queue. And that's why I chose to wait until it's my turn," Wolff explained to Austria's ORF. According to Wolff, it is a personal decision not to vaccinate yet. "This also has insurance aspects, of course. But I think it's good that the possibility was here."

Wolff waits his turn

"A number of F1 team members have taken it, others haven't. I had a COVID-19 infection and I decided to wait until it was my turn," Wolff concluded. Wolff's infection took place in the month of January, so it is likely that the Austrian still has antiviruses in his body.
