'With Verstappen-Perez Red Bull has a strong line-up'

With the confirmation of Yuki Tsunoda as a driver for AlphaTauri alongside Pierre Gasly, Daniil Kvyat's Formula 1 career comes to an end for the time being. But also for Alexander Albon the options are limited because if Red Bull Racing decides to throw him out, the only empty spot at the moment is Mercedes. It will most likely go to Hamilton, so even for Albon there is not much left but a year outside. If he can return at all afterwards.
Perez to Red Bull
Sergio Perez is now a driver without a team and he showed his skills at the Sakhir Grand Prix, which he managed to win. He is also constantly being suggested as a new Red Bull Racing driver who could help Max Verstappen. It remains to be seen whether it will come to that, as the team is still considering what to do. If Perez were to sit next to Verstappen, that would be good for the team.
At least, Gerhard Berger has that opinion. The former F1-driver says at ServusTV that Red Bull Racing with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez would have a "strong line-up". However, he does admit that it is a difficult situation, because Albon of course comes from his own ranks and Red Bull is loyal. But does that dominate enough to keep him? After all, the results must be there too.
Clear goals for Red Bull
Berger: "There are two hearts pounding in my chest. With Albon, they have a young driver who they can bring from their own ranks into the winning circle. But Perez is a constant who can win Grands Prix, as he proved in Sakhir. What is clear is that a team like Red Bull has to work with two top drivers. However, Red Bull is also loyal, so Albon still has a chance."
"I can imagine that Verstappen-Perez would be a strong lineup. With Max they already have an absolute top driver, but she also has to protect herself. Red Bull's goal must be to win both the drivers' championship and the constructors' championship," said the ten-time Grand Prix winner.
