Max Verstappen did not sit still during his weekend free of Formula 1. With the sim racing team Team Redline Orange he won the iRacing 'Petit Le Mans'. The online long distance race of ten hours was held on the virtual circuit of Road Atlanta.

Start of the race

According to Verstappen.com the car of Verstappen and team mate Jonas Wallmeier was not only the fastest and most faultless, but they were also the most economical with the fuel. Because of this combination Team Redline Orange crossed the finish line first with a lap lead on the number two in the LMP2 class.

Verstappen was allowed to start the race on behalf of the team and took the lead in that first stint when he handed over his car to Wallmeier. Wallmeier upped his pace, allowing them to continue one lap longer.

Number two lapped

After eight hours of racing, Verstappen got behind the wheel again for the last stint. The Dutchman drove a fastest lap on the track and put the car on the second position on a lap. The team eventually won the ten hour race after completing 501 laps on the virtual circuit.
