Things don't go well at Ferrari and that's why a lot of things have to change. According to the Italian Corriere, no people will be fired but reinforcements will be recruited. Former engine boss of Mercedes Andy Cowell is one of them.

Cowell is the former boss of the engine department of Mercedes, until he resigned at the beginning of July. The 'engine boss' has had his role in the many successes of the German team since the introduction of hybrid engines in 2014. Cowell will be responsible for the engine at Ferrari in the coming years. Cowell has been available since the 1th of July, although he will remain attached to Mercedes as an advisor.

Special money jar

According to the Italian newspaper, the Italians are going to release a special budget to buy knowledge. At Ferrari, people will not be fired right away after the debacle in Belgium, but mainly knowledge has to be bought. In other words, they want to put the right people in the right places within the team.

The gap to the top has only increased since they had a sanction for driving with a faulty engine at the end of last year. Coming weekend they will ride at their home Grand Prix in Monza. This can be a painful affair, therefore it is important that they show that behind the scenes they are working hard for a better future for the Italian race stable.
