Wolff not involved in talks Racing Point and Vettel: "Stroll decides"

The Racing Point team will be next year's Aston Martin F1 Team. The race stable is currently in talks with Sebastian Vettel about a transition by 2021. According to Toto Wolff, that would be very good from a marketing point of view, but Mercedes' team boss denies that he has a role to play in choosing a driver for next year.
"I'm not involved in any conversation between Lawrence Stroll, Otmar Szafnauer (team boss of Racing Point) and Sebastian," says Wolff in conversation with Motorsport-Total.com. The Austrian recently bought shares in Aston Martin for tens of millions of euros, but that's not about the Formula 1 branch of the British brand. "My shares in the car company have absolutely nothing to do with the F1 team."
Vettel can sign soon
Although Wolff has no say, he obviously has his own opinion. "Sebastian is a four-time world champion with a lot of speed and technical experience. He would be a vital marketing tool for Aston Martin," he says. The aforementioned German medium states that Vettel has had an offer and all he has to do is sign.
It is Lawrence Stroll (and not Wolff) who, as the owner of the team, has to make a decision about which drivers he wants to have in 2021. "In the end it is Lawrence's decision which driver is best for his racing team," concludes Wolff.
