The victory of Max Verstappen in Barcelona is etched in the memory of many Dutch people, but so is Marc Priestley. In his new video he explains why this was so special.

Verstappen in the top ten

Priestley came in Formula 1 as a mechanic of McLaren and was mainly seen on Twitter years later. Now that that channel has existed for ten years, Priestley wants to look back on those ten years on the basis of his jubilee. What kind of highlights he has experienced through his breakthrough on Twitter and in the meantime also popular YouTube channel.

As an interviewer of Sky Sports, Priestley was present at the race in Barcelona in 2016 and at that time he is still very happy to be present. ''To be able to witness such a moment was bizarre. That someone so young can win a race in his first race for a new team, while he was still so inexperienced in F1'', says Priestley.

A good guess

Priestley can remember the moment. ''We were with some journalists in Williams' garage before the start of the race and Simon Lazenby asks everyone's prediction. Then I threw up that the Mercedes would crash and Max would win. Everybody laughed, but it turned out to be a good guess.''

''After the race, I had to do the interview with Verstappen, but that was a real rugby fight to get there. It was cool to see how much passion and emotion that victory brought. It was not only a big highlight for me to experience, but also a highlight for F1'', concludes Priestley.
