Just like Formula 1, Formula E has also been severely hit by the coronavirus. The electric racing class had to announce today that the races planned in New York and London will definitely not be held.

Temporary hospital

Autosport.com knows how to report this. The London Docklands location where the race was to be held in the ExCel Centre has been redesigned as a temporary hospital. The CEO of Formula E Jamie Reigle said last month that FE organizers were in talks with ExCel chiefs to postpone the race date of July 25 & 26.

The championship now confirms that the event will be cancelled in its entirety rather than postponed. A Formula E spokesman said: "With the FIA Formula E Championship race venue at ExCeL London having been prepared as a temporary hospital and continuing to be used as part of the national response in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, the London E-Prix has therefore been cancelled."

According to Autosport, a British round of the championship is still possible and Formula E is now in talks with some permanent circuits, such as Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Donington Park.

E-Prix of New York

The E-Prix of New York has also been cancelled. The location in Brooklyn has been transformed into a temporary coronavirus care facility. The races that can still go on, at a later date or not, are the E-Prix of Germany and the first E-Prix of South Korea. South Korea would actually be on the program this weekend before it was postponed.
